Setup for Etheria

Welcome to Etheria!
So you applied on the account forum and got your account authorized? Great, then please read this as to how to get started:

First of all:

Please make sure you have read the player manual!
(On this webpage in the manuals section)

To log in to the shard:

Log in to our webpage, and go to the Etheria Client Data Section in order to download the files there. Then unzip them all to your UO directory. (Backup any files there that are being replaced, in case you want to play on other shards again.)

Next, make your client point to the following server: (you have to edit the login.cfg file in your UO directory - again best make a backup first if you want to return to OSI)

loginserver=shard.etheria.org,2594

A note to Windows XP users:

We have heard of few instances on several shards where unzipping map-files to the UO folder, all access rights are being lost making tem totaly unaccessible.
No other Operating Systems but WinXP with NTFS file-systems seem affected.

Thus if your UO-installation is on a NTFS partition, either unzip our mapfiles to a folder on a FAT partition or to an unimportant folder such as c:\temp.
Once that worked you can move them safely to your UO directory. (FAT partition have no access right tables, thus they should always work, also with WinXP)

Login:

You can log in with the same Username and Password that you use on the Etheria webpage. Please note that if you change your password on the webpage, it will take up to six hours for the new password to be replicated and to work on the shard.

Please be reminded that this is alpha-tests, which means not everything will work as intended and the game isn't fully balanced yet. If you find really odd behavior though, it is likely that you found a bug, which we'll ask you to report on our webpage.

We'll look forward to meet you in game, and hope you'll appreciate the effords and the hard work we invest trying to make this world come to live.

regards,
your Etheria Staff
