Gold, will it be as easy to gain as it is in other Shards?

Unlikely, wealth is a privilege and is very much the minority. Therefore, you won't find gold on just any creature. Like: Skeletons have no use for gold, but on the other hand Dragons will horde as much as they can get thier claws on.
